Coined in the South Artist Entry Fee

The Young Affiliates, in collaboration with The Mint Museum, will host their fourth annual art show, “Coined in the South”, at the museum’s uptown location from October 11, 2019 - February 16, 2020. The title, “Coined in the South”, refers not only to The Mint Museum’s origins as the first branch of the United States Mint, but also to the act of inventing and/or devising. The purpose of this show is simple: to bridge the gap between the museum, the gallery, and the studio and to showcase fresh and innovative works that have not yet been seen by a broader audience. Unconfined to any particular aesthetic, theme, or medium, this show seeks to be a platform for emerging artists currently working in and/or from the southeast. This artist call is open to all creative mediums which are non-perishable, do not produce excessive noise pollution, and do not result in physical and/or psychological harm to any living beings. Installation, video, and performance artists are encouraged to apply but must provide instructions for installation and space requirements, as well as recordings and/or documentation of past performances when available.
